Testimonials by My Students

“My name is Jamie and I have worked with Rochelle for almost 2 years from 2021 to 2022. The experience I had with her was amazing. She was an excellent boss and person, and I look up to her with a lot of respect, as she sincerely wants the best for everyone and has shown great leadership while working in a pharmacy. While working for her, she helped guide me through everything and made my journey in becoming a technician much easier! She made sure to tell us technicians that if we ever had questions or concerns, she would always help. I personally decided to quit being a technician for other reasons, but if I had a chance to work with her again, I would!”

“Rochelle Guyse was my first direct manager in my healthcare career. I could not have chosen a more qualified manager. Of course, she had a great handle on workflow and scheduling, even in the face of the expected high turnover rate. What impressed me the most was her handle on the people, both her employees and her patrons. She always knew the correct way to handle situations and always found the best outcome. Rochelle constantly fought for her staff, even when we did not know it.”

“Due to my start with Rochelle, I was able to excel as a technician, landing another position that suited my situation better very quickly. I was also accepted to multiple pharmacy schools. I am sure Rochelle’s letters made an impact, but her help with interview preparation and finding the ‘why’ made my acceptance a guarantee. I have had several managers at this point in my career, and I can honestly say Rochelle was and still is the best. She is not the easiest to work for because she demands your best, accepting nothing less. She is the best because of that demand and the tools she gives you to constantly better your best. I know if I face difficulties, she is only a phone call away and will have words of encouragement and, just as importantly, actionable steps to achieve the goal. Anyone willing to accept the privilege of working with/for Rochelle is better for it. It is an honor to know Rochelle.”

My name is Melanie Lesko, and I was hired by Rochelle to transfer to a CVS in Texas. She told me to be brief, but I did want to give a little background and also offer that if you want more information, please feel free to contact me.

When preparing to move, my boss contacted several CVS stores in Texas and told me that after she spoke to Rochelle, I should too. After speaking to different stores, I contacted Rochelle. It seemed like maybe a 5 to 10-minute conversation, in which, when I ended the conversation, I asked her if it was okay with her for me to transfer to her store and work for her.

Just that short talk has had and continues to have a huge impact on me. I called the other stores and turned down the offers to work there, choosing a store 30 minutes from my house, passing 2 other CVS stores to work with her. This is just the tip of the iceberg of how amazing this woman is.

Working with Rochelle has been one of the best opportunities I have experienced at CVS. Her total support of her team, as the leader, let me know that I was valued for all that I did and all that I learned. She does not just hire having bodies; she looks and knows her team and finds people who will both work with the store and the team.

As far as my career at CVS goes, though we no longer work at the same store (not for lack of trying), she is still instrumental in my continuing to work as a technician. As a leader and friend, she has always been there to talk to me about not only work but family life and struggles. Having someone who actually listens and cares is what has kept me going. She looks out for her team, not just the store.

“I will close by listing some of the many adjectives that describe Rochelle, as a person, boss, pharmacist, leader, and friend:

  • Hardworking
  • Caring
  • Kind
  • Supportive
  • Inspirational (though I did not give any real examples, all you have to do is listen to how much she cares about people and the pharmacy field itself)”

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Melanie Lesko

“I am writing on my experience with Rochelle Guyse. Rochelle had excellent training abilities. She helped me when I came into the pharmacy with no experience and trained me to be an excellent Sr. Pharmacy Technician. She made sure I was knowledgeable in everything. I worked with her for 10 years, and it was the best experience I ever had. I saw her train all the UT students so that they would be great pharmacists. She impacted me so much that I emulate her work ethics and still do to this day. She encouraged me when I wanted to transition from the pharmacy to the State Board of Pharmacy. I was scared to do something different, but she mentored me to step out of my comfort zone and be the best I can be. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to work by her side.”

“While working with Miss Rochelle, I felt like I really had someone to help me advance and improve my skills in the pharmacy.”

“She took time to work with me individually to help me develop the leadership skills that I needed to become a better technician. Anytime I worked with Miss Rochelle, she always created a very nurturing environment for my team members and me by giving us a safe space to voice our opinions and concerns and providing solutions for the improvement of our workplace.”

“My name is Bryan Ho, and I had the absolute pleasure of being mentored by Rochelle as a PIC while I was a pharmacy technician.”

“Working with Rochelle inspired me to pursue a career in pharmacy. When I was a tech, she fostered the skills and relationships I needed to further my career. I can attribute my career path from tech to pharmacy manager, all thanks to Rochelle’s strong leadership and compassion to help others.”

“Every day I worked with her, I saw her go above and beyond—not only caring for the patients, but also for those who worked with and under her. No matter how busy the day was, she always took the time to build me up with constructive criticism as well as words of encouragement. Her impact went well beyond the work hours as well. She would always find time to mentor me outside work hours when I needed it.”

“Over the years in my career, I have yet to meet someone as caring and passionate about pharmacy as Rochelle.”

“Her dedication to this profession is unparalleled. She has taught me how to be intentional when hiring, how to be firm yet encouraging while training, and overall how to understand the patients' needs as well as the pharmacy's needs.”

“I owe my career to her for starting me down this path and guiding me through the rough times, even helping me enjoy the adventure. I hope whoever is reading this will understand just a glimpse of how amazing I hold Rochelle to be.”

“Hello! My name is Richard Chon.”

“I've had the pleasure of working with Rochelle at Walgreens from 2015 to 2019. She was an amazing boss to work with; she cared about everybody in the pharmacy. She took the time to train, listen, and challenged us to grow in our profession.”

“She was always there for us, whether we were struggling in our personal lives or in our work lives. Working under her for 5 years, I've gained the confidence and experience to further my career in the pharmacy industry. With her recommendation, I was able to apply and accept the position as a pharmacy manager at Walgreens. She is someone I can always call to ask questions about work or anything that is going on in my personal life.

“The passion and expertise she has shared with me has had a great impact on my career as a pharmacy manager. I would say that my success as a pharmacy manager and how I treat my team members at my pharmacy resembles how she ran the pharmacy when I was working for her.”

“The passion and love she has shown to the team (pharmacy technicians) has translated to how I treat my team members. I'm very thankful and proud to have her as my friend/colleague.”

Thanks!!
Sincerely,
